This is the first Startup School in New York City, a place that has greatly influenced me.

I love Y Combinator and New York for startups, which is why I'm here today.

We aim to create a new version of Startup School that better fits the diverse backgrounds of participants, focusing on helping them evaluate ideas like an investor would.

The first Startup School was designed to be free and accessible, attracting serious builders and avoiding the pretentiousness of other startup events.

In 2019, Startup School will be hosted by me and Adora, and it will be a response to the feedback and learnings from 2018.

This is my sixth Startup School, and today I'm sharing what I wish I had heard during my first five times attending.

Back in 2005, Y Combinator was eager for people to attend the first Startup School, which aimed to provide early-stage founders with insights from their peers.

For international participants, we will record lectures and host meetups in the top 18 cities where people participated in Startup School, allowing for direct interaction with YC partners.
